SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
We hold well-attended meetings bi-monthly (see below) and produce a bi-monthly newsletter for members.
Our Social Co-ordinator organises a variety of events throughout the year such as dinner nights, barbecues and picnics, fun nights, weekends away and special celebratory activities centred on Australia Day, Friendship Force International Day, and Christmas.
In February 2012 the Melbourne Friendship Force Club will be hosting the Australian Conference of Friendship Force Clubs in Melbourne.
For more details, go to Social Activities.
TRAVEL EXCHANGES
Each year we have at least one Inbound Exchange (visitors from International countries or Australian destinations come to Melbourne to be hosted) and one Outbound Exchange (Melbourne members travel overseas or to other Australian destinations where they are hosted). Outbound Exchange programs are planned by the host club with input from an Exchange Director appointed from the Melbourne Friendship Force Club.
For our visitors’ Inbound Exchanges, the programs include free days with hosts, sightseeing, dinner hosting as well as welcome and farewell functions. Our Members go out of their way to ensure ambassadors feel welcome and may participate in the cultural exchange by offering to home host, day host or dinner host.
Members of all Friendship Force clubs worldwide may participate in other club exchanges, if numbers permit.
For more details, go to Exchanges.
